Testnet Participation & Infrastructure
Prime Stake Pool (PSP) participated in the Musashi Dojo, Cardano's public testnet dedicated to testing and validating Ouroboros Leios — a next-generation protocol designed to significantly increase Cardano's transaction throughput and scalability while preserving its security and decentralization.

MusashiNet officially launched on 23 June 2026, marking the beginning of Cardano's public, real-world testing of the Leios protocol. The Dojo provides an environment where independent stake pool operators, developers, and researchers can test successive Leios implementations under real network conditions before the technology reaches Cardano mainnet.

Musashi Testnet & Incentivized Participation
The initial Earth phase focused on validating the complete Leios protocol end-to-end, including block production, endorser blocks, voting, and certification across geographically distributed infrastructure. The Earth phase ran for approximately 41 days and concluded in August 2026.

The Water phase began on 11 August 2026, introducing a fresh testnet environment focused on parameter exploration, network configuration, mempool improvements, and further protocol experimentation. The Musashi Testnet Rewards Program was also active with the Water phase, providing incentives for independent operators running stake pools and contributing operational data to the testing process. The program also allowed eligible pools that participated during Earth to receive retroactive rewards.

PSP Musashi Deployment
Prime Stake Pool began operating its Musashi testnet infrastructure on 6 September 2026, deploying three independent Cardano testnet stake pools on Google Cloud VPS infrastructure across three geographically distributed locations:

The three pools provide PSP with hands-on experience operating Leios-enabled infrastructure across geographically distributed environments and contributing to the testing of Cardano's next-generation scaling architecture.

PSP's Role in the Leios Ecosystem
Through its participation in the Musashi Dojo, PSP is gaining practical experience with Cardano's next-generation consensus and scaling infrastructure. Operating three independent pools across Mumbai, Singapore, and Delhi enables PSP to test distributed infrastructure under different network conditions while contributing operational experience to the broader Leios testing effort.

The Five Phases of Musashi Dojo
The Musashi testnet is structured around five phases, inspired by Miyamoto Musashi's Book of Five Rings. Each phase progressively advances the testing and refinement of Ouroboros Leios.

01 — Earth (Chi / 地)
Foundation & Validation
The first phase focused on getting the Leios prototype running end-to-end in a real public environment and validating its core functionality under real network conditions.

02 — Water (Sui / 水)
Parameter Exploration & Optimization
The second phase focuses on exploring network parameters, improving components such as the mempool, and identifying configurations capable of delivering higher throughput. The Rewards Program became active during this phase.

03 — Fire (Ka / 火)
Stress Testing & Performance
The Fire phase is intended to push the protocol harder, testing performance, resilience, and behavior under demanding network conditions as the implementation matures.

04 — Wind (Fū / 風)
Diversity & Real-World Validation
The Wind phase focuses on testing different implementations, configurations, and approaches, helping identify weaknesses and validate the protocol across a broader range of environments.

05 — Void (Kū / 空)
Final Readiness
The final phase represents the culmination of the testing program, bringing together lessons from the previous stages and preparing Leios for its eventual transition toward Cardano mainnet.
